International Folklore Studies Center

Published: 2021-11-18

A partnership between the Department of Chinese Folklore Studies at Beijing Normal University (BNU) and the Indiana University (IU) Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology, the International Folklore Studies Center coordinates collaborative activities including virtual and in-person research workshops and other scholarly events, joint teaching or research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and scholarly publication efforts. Established in 2021, the center builds on a long history of scholarly exchange linking these two leading centers for folklore studies scholarship.

The International Folklore Studies Center was established under a formal sub-agreement linking the BNU School of Chinese Language and Literature and the IU College of Arts and Sciences within a broader Primary Partnership Agreement between BNU and IU. The Center is Co-Directed by Yang Lihui of the BNU Department of Chinese Folklore Studies and Jason Baird Jackson of the IU Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology. For questions concerning the Center, please contact Yang Lihui and Jason Baird Jackson.
