讲座题目：死亡的暗示：奥维德与世界末日

讲座概要：该讲座将以古罗马诗人奥维德（Ovid）的《变形记》和他放逐托米斯（Tomis）后的诗歌（主要是《哀歌集》）为主，将诗集中不同的思想和意象结合分析，为奥维德的末世论提供一个更完整的图景。讲座以“宇宙末世论”（cosmic eschatology）和“肉体末世论”（eschatology in the flesh）展开，并与古罗马诗人维吉尔、卢克莱修和贺拉斯的诗歌进行互文阅读，深入分析奥维德的末世宇宙观。其中涉及古希腊罗马哲学毕达哥拉斯学派、斯多葛学派、伊壁鸠鲁学派对奥维德诗歌创作的影响，进一步强调末世论在奥维德诗歌中所扮演的重要角色。

主讲人简介：

    Alessandro Schiesaro is the Head of the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures and Professor of Classics, University of Manchester. His main fields of interest include Latin literature, literary theory, psychoanalysis and cultural history; he is especially fascinated by the interaction between poetry and philosophy and by the role of poetry as purveyor of knowledge. His work so far focuses mostly on Lucretius, Virgil, Horace, Ovid and Seneca, and he has also published on Statius, Apuleius and Leopardi.

He edits the Classical journal MAIA – Rivista di Literature Classiche - and is a member of the editorial board of Dictynna, Materiali e Discussioni per l’Analisi dei Testi Classici and Studi Italiani di Filologia Classica. He is a member of Academia Europaea. He has been a Visiting Professor at Stanford and has lectured extensively in Europe and the US.
